(2) to be really great pets, they just needed some love and attention. He eventually starts finding some for the other Avengers, and it turns out that he’s really freaking good at finding the perfect compatible animal for each person.
bucky can’t stand the idea of a healthy animal being euthanized if there’s anything he can do about it, but he also understands why shelters do it; so he makes it a bit of a personal mission to help find homes for the animals that he knows the shelter won’t keep for much longer. he’s never had a pet in his life, so he has to learn how to train one as he goes, but he finds that a little kindness goes a long way.

it’s not long before natasha has a cat and bruce has a dog, and when both of them comment on how good it’s been for them to have an animal around, bucky knows he’s done a good thing.
